Ogni anno l’università di Harvard celebra Gaetano Salvemini (che insegnò lì dal 1934 al 1949). Nel 2015 il seminario è stato affidato ad Alessandro Portelli, che ha svolto un intervento dal titolo “The Ethics of Resistance”, sulla complessa relazione che molti partigiani ebbero con l’inevitabile uso della violenza durante la guerra di liberazione.
